Please introduce yourself and tell us about the moment you discovered Suede.

I am Michel. I am 50 (my gods, 50!!!). I am both Portuguese and French. I live in Lyon, France, with my husband and our cat :). I am a social worker.

I discovered Suede with the Animal Nitrate video on TV. I was so amazed that I immediately went to a record shop (Virgin Megastore, remember? :)), that was opening late, to buy the album! First and last time I did that kind of thing. I can't say I became a huge fan as I was quite disappointed by the album. I don't know why but I kept listening to the album from time to time and I started to love Pantomime Horse and Breakdown...and so on I slowly became obsessed by the whole thing. I understood later that I didn't enjoy the album at first because I don't like So Young. I am sorry for that :)

And so, when Dog Man Star came out, I bought it immediately and spend the following days (and decades) listening to it religiously! I remember listening to The 2 of Us at the time and thinking it was the most beautiful thing I ever heard.

What & when was your first Suede purchase?

Like I said it was the first album.

Something funny: when later I bought the We are the Pigs single, I was so amazed by the B-sides that I started looking for all the previous singles. It took some time to realize Pantomime Horse was not a single... :)

How do you organise your collection?

I have 2 special spots in my living room with all my Suede/Brett CDs records.

What's your most treasured item in your collection and why?

I don't know really. All are special to me. I'd say the Dog Man Star and Night Thoughts vinyls are my treasures but just because they are my favorite records ever.

Tell us about your most recent Suede purchase.

My most recent purchase is the latest Coming Up reissue, I think. I pre-ordered an Autofiction combo of course.

Is there any item that was in your reach and you now regret not buying?

Not really. Maybe the T-shirts that were sold at the Dog Man Star gigs in 1995. I still regret not buying the We are the Pigs T-shirt. But I am not a real collector. I just need all the songs in physical format. I am not interested in having all the vinyls colours and everything. In fact I am a liar cause I have every album in different editions. So don't trust me :)

What's on your wishlist for your collection?

I just want more Suede music on cd and vinyl, red, white, black, orange, purple, green, pink, blue...
