Think it’s a given it will follow on CD later in the year, personally. Only question for me is will they expand it to include some of the gems left off like ‘Nothing Can Stop Us’, ‘Jubilee’ etc.
Absolutely. Making it a Record Store Day only thing would be a letdown with their history of price gouging but I'm not getting my hopes up, it's a Demon reissue after all and they're plagued with issues. Wait until release day, everywhere will be flooded with people moaning about the sound quality. It would be nice for people who don't have the means to listen to vinyl or can't listen to MP3s/Spotify in their car, but I'm not optimistic it will get a CD release, not with Demon's track record.
I have not got a record player and have no inclination to get one so unless it's eventually released on CD I won't be picking up Sci-Fi Lullabies vol 2 😥
Undoubtedly it’ll get a second run on vinyl in the next year or so, given Demon’s track record with previous Suede RSD releases.
I’d also imagine that there’s a cost to set up this release that would necessitate some wider release than the 5000 or so copies that are pressed up for RSD.
Streaming wise, Manipulation has already appeared, so it would look like that’s inevitable.
As for CD, it’s unfortunately a slowing market so I’d be surprised.
Call me a cynic (you wouldn’t be the first), but releasing old material and some offcuts (not a statement on quality) is basically a licence to print money. Thus my gut feeling is this will get some sort of wider release.
I can almost imagine the “Create your own SFL2 playlist” competition now!
In terms of what is cannon or not, it’s a sketchy area now with streaming only releases. If I were a betting man I’d say a black vinyl release in November with a streaming release soon after RSD.
YES, definitely.
Yes, in a double jewel case too!

Should it be? absolutely. Will it happen? I wouldn't bet on it 😕
